No (real) conservatives believe that, you’re just repeating a liberal talking point that they made up and that only THEY say conservatives believe. To get people more against the Iraq War, liberals said we only went there for oil. Propaganda. I read conservative columns, listen to conservative talk radio every day, etc… NEVER in a million years would I ever hear “We need more oil, let’s go bomb some countries.” I was obviously referring to domestic drilling in my earlier post.

Oh, & as far as the poor goes… it’s well-documented that Republicans give FAAAR more to charity than Democrats, there have been numerous studies on that. America gives more to charity than any other nation in socialist western Europe. Why? Because there, people expect the government to do it. They completely rely on government & in the end, the poor get screwed because gov’t can’t do it all. Too many are dependent on gov’t, and the Democrats prefer it that way, it gets them reelected.

And finally, as for oil…. liberals use emotions instead of their head when it comes to this. Oil sounds bad, it looks gross, they associate it with greedy rich people or something (and don’t care about greedy rich liberal union bosses or Hollywood execs). Yet gas prices are far too high, we NEED oil to run airplanes, cars, other motors, this fact won’t go away overnight. We have to drill more. But between helping the economy and sticking it to rich people, liberals prefer the latter.

Actually, most blue collar/farm workers are Republican. I grew up in Iowa and almost all the farmers were Republican, that was typically the norm… if it was rural, it was Republican. The more urban, the more Democrat.
As for who would be sitting around watching YouTube videos… the comments on here are almost entirely liberal, despite polls showing more Americans identify as conservative, so there you are.
